Be Free

What does it mean to be free? When I think about freedom, for me I don’t just limit it to a physical state of being where you have unlimited mobility or even just financial freedom, but I venture to say that it also resides in the existence of your thoughts and behaviors not being confined to or controlled by the replaying past negative experiences that cause you to hinder your personal growth, or alter your behavior and how you react to the world and people around you.

I don’t have to live in the memories of my past, and I don’t have to be bound by others thoughts/perceptions of me. I want to live in the moment of looking towards the future and the expected end that God wants for us all to have! If your thoughts are consumed by your past and anything that does not serve where you are going, it’s time to create new patterns of thinking to replace those old thoughts with what the word of God says about you.

Make the conscious decision to change the narrative that may try to come up and keep you in mental bondage. How do you practice this? Keeping an atmosphere of worship; listen to praise & worship music throughout the day and reading the bible or listening to an audio version of the bible. What has also worked well for me is when I recognize I’m going down a path of negative thinking is to recognize the thought when it starts and start speaking the word over my life to combat it. Speak truth and speak life. {“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8 KJV}

Please know, this is a process! This takes practice and persistence on your part. After a while, you will find yourself replaying what the word of God says and you can even impart wisdom you’ve learned unto others. I want you to walk in the freedom of the fact that God loves you, your sins are forgiven {“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalms 103:12 KJV}, you are loved and worthy of love; and my prayer is that you get past the point of just saying but that you believe it and live like it!

Blessings to you!
